Lula Gatlin Lightsey, 88, of Montgomery, Ala., formerly of Laurel, died Sunday, May 12, 2002. Cryptside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, at Elmwood Mausoleum in Birmingham, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Lightsey. She is survived by one brother, Winfred Gatlin of Laurel; children, Joyce L. Smith of Hoover, Ala., Betty Ann Riggio of New Orleans, La., Mark Lightsey of Pleasant Grove and Ronald Lightsey of Hoover, Ala.; grandchildren, Tammy S. Jones of Homewood, Holly S. Strayer of Homewood, Kim Netling of Ketchikan, Ark., and Corey Lightsey and Emily Lightsey, both of Pleasant Grove; great-grandchildren, Elyse Jones, Zachary Jones, Samuel Strayer and Caleb Strayer, all of Homewood, Penny Foret of Louisiana and Tara Stuart, Christopher Netling and Alexander Netling, all of Ketchikan, Ark. Johns-Ridout's Mortuary in Birmingham, Ala., is in charge of arrangments.
