Tiger

Every single day, on my way out the door,
my Aunt Jean would rant and sometimes she would roar,
"Don't you bring any dogs home with you today
because if you do... you'll have to find another place to stay!"

But Tiger was special and I knew from the start...
it wouldn't take long for him to win Jean's heart.
So, off we went on our short ride home,
me, my new best friend, his leash and his bone.

Tiger walked Brandy to the bus each day.
He made sure she was safe and sent her on her way.
Some days it seemed as though he didn't want her to go, so he would follow her up the steps as the bus driver yelled, "No. You silly dog, you can't go to school.
Don't you know it's against the rules?"

Tiger followed Aaron each and every day--they were joined
at the hips each step of the way. They played beside each
other and never missed a beat. Through the rain, the snow, the cold, and the heat.

He would look deep into my eyes and wag his tail as if to say,"I love you Vic... Thanks for letting me stay." The day I lost Tiger was one of my saddest, that's for sure...
for his love was genuine, ever-lasting, and pure.

There will never be another like Tiger, this I can safely say. If I live to be a hundred, I will think of him each
and every day.

Thanks to everyone who has left and will leave a love token for Tiger. I know that he is happy with Xena and Max.
