Rose Baldasty, 93; died on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 at Lenox Hill Hospital. Mrs. Baldasty had resided in New York City since arriving in the United States from Austria. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking and baking for them. She also cared for many cats in her neighborhood. She was a member of St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Churches in New York City. Born in Austria on Oct. 29, 1909, she was the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Klebeis) Messenlehner. She was predeceased in 1981 by her husband, William W. Baldasty. Mrs. Baldasty is survived by three daughters, Rose Anne and her husband, Louis Clavell of Beachhurst, Helen and her husband, Donald Cook, of Stanfordville and Leslie McGilvray of Poughkeepsie; two sons, William and his wife, Edie of Rhinebeck and Joseph and his wife, Rose Mary of Deny, N.H.
