Francis Elmer Mattingly, 69, Loretto, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Springview Hospital, Lebanon. He was born Nov. 19, 1939, in Marion County.
He was a former employee of Owens-Illinois in Bardstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Sylvester "Benny" Mattingly and Mary Bessie Mattingly; a brother, Lawrence Alton Mattingly; and three infant siblings, Catherine Gertrude, Joseph Huber and Joseph Alvin Mattingly.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Mattingly; a daughter, Debbie Riggs, Boston; a son, James Pat Mattingly, Bardstown; four grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Smith, Bardstown.
The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope, with burial in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
The Rev. Kenneth Fortener will be chief celebrant with the Rev. Deacon Edward Hutchins assisting.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, with a vigil at 7 p.m.
