Nancy Ann Coleman was born February 11,1867 in Pike Co., Ky. to William E. Coleman and Louvenia Powell. Nancy married first to Bynum Dockery Absher on August 4, 1881 in Pike Co., Ky., and they had the following children: Maro, Alpha Pearl, John, Louvena, William Frederick, Russell Lowell, Verda Maude, Harry Allen, Reland B., Florence Beatrice., Olice Mary, and Bynum "Herbert" Absher. Nancy and her husband/children/father/and many neighbors in Pike Co., Ky., traveled by covered wagons to the state of Washington in 1897, looking for a better life. Nancy's mother died in Kentucky, and did not accompany them. They settled in Lewis Co., Wa., where most of the men, including Bynum and their sons, found work in the logging industry. Nancy later married Frank W. Olson October 27, 1923 in Chehalis, Wa. There were no children from this union. Nancy lived in Ryderwood, Wa. for 75 yrs. before moving to Yacolt, Clark Co.,Wa., where she died, that same year, on November 3, 1952.
