John Glover was the much treasured husband of my friend Hazel, to whom he would have been married to for 42 years in July 2009.

He was diagnoised with CJD on 23rd December 2008.
He entered St Michaels Hospice, The Green, St Leonards on sea, East Sussex, on 6th January 2009, were he died with his wife by his side on 14th January 2009, aged 66 years.

His funeral took place on 6th February 2009, at the Baptist Church, Battle. It was attended by over 200 people.
John had always wanted his funeral to be a grand affair, that everyone would remember. His brother Richard led the pocession through Battle high street, joined by all John's family, friend's and aquaintences. It completely brought the centre of Battle to a stand still, something John would have loved!

John's cremation was a private affair, and at this time of writing, Hazel has yet to decide where their final resting place will be.

A tragic loss, and leaves a big gap in Hazel's life.
Hazel does not need a place to go to remember John, as she feels that he will be forever with her.

Hazel will be forever grateful for the wonderful support she received from those at the St Michael's Hospice.

To me, John was a larger than life character, full of life with a wonderful laugh.

RIP dear friend.

In loving memory of a special Husband,

Thinking of you today,
Wishing you were here,
Remembering you
With a mountain of love and an ocean
Full of tears.
Alone, but not never quite alone,
I face an empty chair,
But sometimes in the silence,
I imagine you are there,
My companion for so many years,
No longer here with me,
And yet in some mysterious way,
You keep me company....
