Prof. Ernest Bierman, I.U. Instructor, died at Bloomington
Mary Teal received word, Sunday, from Bloomington, Indiana, announcing the death of her brother-in-law, Pro. Ernest Bierman at his home in that city, Sat night. The body will be taken to Arcadia and the funeral and burial will be taken place there but the time willnot be known until the family receives word from a daughter,Mrs. Donald Stone, of Chicago, who is with her husband, Minnesota on account of his health.
Pro Bierman was an instructor in German in Indiana University for 24 years and an unthority on that language. Gave up his work last fall due to his health and spent some time in Germany. Came home a few weeks ago and thought he was better that he would go back to work. He was employed at his old job only a week when he was taken sick again and pased away Sat nite at the age of 68.
Deceased born in Germany when he was 14 years old. First identified with Salvation Army and when a young man, was also an instructor in the college of upland. Later time, h e met his future wife,Miss Alice Krause, who is sister of Mrs. Eli Stalker, residing near Westfield. Wedding in 1895.
Pro Bierman also taught in Freson, California, some time in Canada. He is survived bythe widow and following children.

Mrs. Augusta Barbour, of Glenn Eller Ill., Dr. Elizabeth gillispie of cinncinnati, mrs. Donald Stone, of chicago and Aronld and David Bierman of Virginia.
Prof and Mrs Bierman related to the Waltz family around Arcadia. It was second death in the family within 24 hours. Charlene aged 12, daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Waltz, east of Cicero, died at the local hospital Monday morning.

Sept 3 funeral services forPro Ernest Bierman of the German department of Indiana university, Bloomington, were held at Arcadia Tues afternoon and burial took place in the Dunkard cemetery at the edge of town.
Prof Bierman died Sat nite after an illness of a year and half. Born in Stade, Germany June 7, 1863 (someone disagreed and made note on paper that on gravestone it said April 17, 1865)
and came to US at age of 17. (other article said he was at age of 14 so it is not my typo)
Taught at Taylor University, Boston University, and Northwestern Universtiy and received his A.B. degree from Leland Standford Unviersity in 1897 and his A.M. from Indiana Unvieristy in 1907

Short funeral services at residence i Bloomington Tues morning and was in charge by Rev. T.M. Heaton assisted by Rev. William McFadden after then the body was brought to Arcadia.
