Kitty Levin, known as Kate,
was born on 16th August 1829,
Richmond, Surrey.
She was the oldest daughter of
Moss & Ann Levin.
Grand Daughter of William Levin (1775)
Her younger sister was:

On 5th September 1847, Marylebone,
she married
William Montague Glenister (1828-1894)
They had 11 children:

William Joseph 1850-1929, (twin of Emily)
Joseph George 1852-1915,
Louis Oliver 1855-1924,
George Fredrick 1858-1900,
Edward Hastings 1859-1918,
Clement John 1861-1940,
Annie Louisa 1861-1928,
Charles Laurence 1864-1937 &
Arthur Oliver 1865-1935.
They moved to Hastings in May 1857, when William became Superintendant of police.
William was for 37 years Chief Constable of Hastings, Sussex.
He was also the founder & for 30 years,
Captain of
St Leonards & Hastings Fire Brigade.
UK 1881 census shows Kate & William,
living with their 4 youngest sons at
4 Devonshire Road, Hastings, Sussex.
Kate died on 17th November 1892, aged 63 years.
She is buried with her husband at Hastings Cemetery.
William's monument, on which Kate is mentioned, stands 5' 10" tall.
