Wife of John Crubaugh.

Mary's maiden name is unknown. She is listed in 1840 and being married to John Crubaugh (1818-1883) and they have a young daughter with them. In 1850, the son is no longer listed, but John and Mary are listed in Wayne, Columbiana County, OH. John lists his age as 40 (i.e. born in 1810) and Mary is listed as being 37. When John joined the Union army in 1862, he listed his age as 44 and the military used that to establish an 1818 birth date for John in his Find-a-Grave memorial. John was likely born earlier than 1818 since the couple was married in 1835.
The book, "Crubaugh, the American Story" provides the following:
"During the 1830 Census, John was living alone in Centre Township near his mother, Ester, and his brothers Isaac and Frederick. In 1840, he was living in the same place. By that time he had a wife, and a son who was less than five years old. His wife, Mary, was born on July 6, 1815. She was 36 years, 7 months, and 19 days old when her death oc-curred on February 25, 1852. John purchased a coffin from Eells Funeral Home in Lisbon, Ohio, for the sum of eight dollars. Mary was buried in the Lee Cemetery in Centre Township.
