Letitia 1st married John Marsh. 1862 March 18 - Surry County, North Carolina - John Marsh resided in Surry County and enlisted at "Wough Hill" or at Dobson at age 24, March 18, 1862. Present or accounted for until hospitalized at Richmond, Virginia, July 2, 1862, with a "contused wound". Place and date wounded not reported. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Captured at Fredericksburg, Virginia, December 13, 1862. Exchanged on December 17, 1862. Returned to duty prior to March 1, 1863. Died in hospital at Staunton, Virginia, July 11, 1863 of "febris typhoides" .

Her second marriage was to William Jiles "Bill" Poindexter.

Paternal grandparents were John Stanley, Sr. and Mary ? Stanley. Maternal grandparents were Stephen and Elizabeth Snow Wilmoth.
