Henrietta was my great-great grandmother. I'm sorry I never got to meet her because she must have been a very tough woman. Her parents were from Germany. She had 11 children and lost three of them when they were very young. She also lost her father, Charles Brinkman, when she was young (he was only 28) as well as losing her husband. John 'Schmidt' Smith was her step-father.
