Rosella May Phelps Mines, age 89, passed away July 7, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born September 8, 1900 in Taylorsville, Utah to George Frederick and Zina May Butterfield Phelps. Married Leland Clyde Mines on August 6, 1919 in Midvale, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 10, 1961. Leland passed away on April 12, 1975. Active member of the LDS Church. Rosella was noted for her quilts, crocheting, and gardening. She loved her home and family.Survived by three daughters; Afton M. Black, Murray, Ut.; Ila M. (husband T. Frank) Nelson, Salt Lake; Joyce M. (husband Donn) Welch, So. Salt Lake; 16 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; four sisters; Merle Jensen, Riverton, Ut,; Vera (husband Fred) Bean, Oregon, Ruth McQuiston, Salt Lake; Fay (husband Jerry) Putman, Arizonia. Preceded in death by 1 great grandchild, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 11, 1990, at 1:00 PM at the Central Park Ward, 300 East 2700 South. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. Directing: Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
