Carl W. Linaweaver, 66 RR 2, died Wednesday in Providence St. Margaret Health Care Center, Kansas City, Ks after a brief illness.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Belden Sexton Sumpter Funeral Chapel with burial in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
He was born in Leavenworth County Aug. 19, 1917 the son of Claude and Margaret Smoot Linaweaver. he was married Nov. 3, 1946 to Evalyn Fink.
He served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed at the Fort Leavenworth Transportation section until his retirement in 1973. he had been employed since then at Thompson Truck Lines. He was a member of Atchison Post No. 56 American legion, Aerie No. 55 Fraternal order of Eagles; and George E. white Post Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of the home, two sons, Gary Linaweaver and Dennis Linaweaver, both of Leavenworth, two daughters, Mrs Sandi Naumann and Mrs. Carleen Hayslett both of Atchison, two brothers, Walter Linaweaver and Glenn Linaweaver both of Lansing; one sister, Mrs Mary Rothe, Lenexa; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to St. Francis De Sales Church or the Salvation Army.
Friends may call at the chapel after 10 a.m. today.
