Funeral services for the late Mrs. Leah Wilson Patton, aged 72 years, who died at the family home, 219 East Oak street yesterday evening at 6 o'clock, will be held from St. John's Episcopal church next Sunday afternoon June 30, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Globe cemetery.
The late Mrs. Patton had been in good health until a week ago when she became suddenly ill, and it was necessary to call medical aid. Despite loving care from her family and expert medical attention she gradually lost strength.
As a last effort it had been intended to send her Phoenix this morning by airplane for a special operation. However, she passed away in the late afternoon of yesterday.
Born In England
The late Mrs. Patton was born at Sunderland, England February 29, 1868. She came to the United States at the age of eight. She came to Tombstone from Utah in 1885 and was married to James Patton at Benson. The couple came to Globe in 1886. Mr. Patton passed away in 1906 and Mrs. Patton has continued to reside at the family home on Oak street since that time.
Surviving are three daughters: Misses Ethel and Elsie Patton, Globe and Mrs. Fanny Wamsley, Phoenix; and a granddaughter, Miss Francis Wamsley.
Remembered For Comforting Songs
The late Mrs. Patton was a member of St. John's church and was active in its activities. She was a member of the church choir for many years, and will be remembered by many for the comfort and sympathy she gave unselfishly in the hymns which she sang at many funerals. She was also prominent in activities of the Sultana Rebekah Lodge, of which she was a member for years.

Leah Patton was a member of the Alexander Woman's Relief Corp of Globe, Arizona which is said to be the oldest women's organization of the city.
The late Mrs. Patton had a wide circle of friends, not only among the pioneer people of Arizona, of whom she was one, but of those who came later to the Southwest. News of her death occasioned widespread regret and sorrow in the community.
