Adam Oliver was the husband of Mary Marshall. While living in Killinchy, Ireland, it appears eleven children were born to Adam and Mary.

Adam Oliver, listed as age 50, came from Ireland to America aboard the bark "Charter Oak" arriving in New York City, New York, 12 June 1848.

A ship manifest record for eldest son Adam has not been found. Son John did not come over until 1853, probably staying behind to wrap up affairs for the family in Ireland. Adam's wife, Mary, and six of his children arrived aboard the "Constitution" in 1849.
