Katie May Kennedy
Katie May Kennedy, 92, Springfield, passed away at 9:45 p.m. in Cox Medical Center North. Katie was born on Oct. 1, 1906 in Fordland, Mo., to John and Ammie Marlin Stroud.
She was of the Methodist faith and was married to Rev. A.C. Kennedy on Feb. 21, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1969.
Surviving are three sons, Gene Kennedy, Rogersville, John Kennedy, Springfield, and Dean Kennedy, Luzerne, Mich.; two stepsons- Bob Kennedy, state of Colorado, and Bill Kennedy, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters and their husbands, Ann and Everett Fender, Springfield, and Kay and Harold Tracy, Springfield; three stepdaughters, Edwinna Payne, Springfield, Wanee Mayberry, Bolivar, and Hazel Roch, state of ARizona; two brothers, and their wives, Elbert and Gladys Stroud, state of Oregon and Charlie and Emily Stroud, Leafriver, Ill.; two sisters, Opal Gossman, Longbeach, Calif., and Elsie Lambert, Strafford; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Katie was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Everett, Archie and Glenn Stroud; two sisters, Ona Stinnett, and Myrtle Nease; and one grandson, Mark Fender.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersville, with burial in the Steward Cemetery, Fordland.
