She married James J Nolan (whom she met in Ronkonkoma when he was working as a camp counselor)at age 20, at the home of one of several half-sisters, May Harris (in New Rochelle)on June 11, 1914. One year later to the day, she gave birth at the same home to twins, Mary and Isabel. She later had a son, James J. Nolan, Jr.
Belle traveled extensively with husband, Jim, in the course of his job. They lived in Brooklyn for many years. After her husband's death she lived with her daughter, Mary Dennen. Later she moved to Babylon to live with her daughter, Isabel Gallagher and her family.
She was always the center of things, and lived her life to the fullest.
