Frances Shanks, 70, of Casey, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1980, at 8:30am in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind.

She was born March 3, 1910 in Crawford County, the daughter of Bert and Amy (Cruse) McCrory. Her husband, Lester, preceded her in death September 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Casey.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie (Swope) Ulrey and Mrs. Juanita (Swope) McNary; one step-daughter, Geraldine Shanks; two step-sons, Lowell and Clifford Shanks; five brothers, Ira, Joe, Ralph, Lee, and Roy; three sisters, Gladys Nash, Mary Helen Williams, and Fern Lockhard; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2pm at First Baptist Church, Casey, with Rev. Jerry McDaniel and Rev. Don Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery.

Frances's first husband was Warren A. Swope, who died in 1941. Frances is buried next to her first husband, Warren; her second husband, Lester Shanks, is buried nearby with his first wife, Arminda.
