She was born Vrata, Yugoslavia, the daughter of the late Antonia and Vince Kauzlaric. Mrs. Cantu's lifelong passion for gardening was surpassed only by her love for her family. During her many visits to San Francisco, and particularly during her final months, Mrs. Cantu was surrounded by wonderful friends she had made there. She endeared herself to her caretakers with her graciousness and unfailing sense of humor.
Survivors include her daughter Dorla of San Francisco and son Darryl of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; five grandchildren: Dr. Ballan Tuck of Capitola, CA, Danielle Cantu of Wheaton, IL, Laurel Cantu of San Antonio, TX and Darin and Jennifer Cantu both of Jacksonville, FL; two great grandchildren Sarah and Daniel Cantu of Jacksonville; a brother Bill Kauzlaric of Monterey, CA,; a sister Mary Hundley of Bloomington, IL and numerous other extended family.
