Alice Anna, daughter of George and Anna Felton, was born in a log house on her father's homestead in Nuckolls County, Nebraska, April 16, 1876 and departed this life at her home near Wauneta, Nebraska, February 16, 1952 at the age of 75 years 10 months. She was one of ten children and was the oldest daughter.

When a young girl she accepted the Lord as her Saviour, and was baptized into Christ and joined the Ox Box Christian Church, of which she was still a member. She enjoyed her church work at Ox Bow, which was later moved to Angus, Nebraska. She was faithful to the Lord until the time of her home going. She was always present in services as long as health permitted.

She was united in marriage to Stanley Adamson of Nora, Nebraska, June 2, 1898. To this union were born four daughters, all of whom survive her and live near the present home.

They moved from Nuckolls County, Nebraska 34 years ago to a farm near Wauneta, Nebraska. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary June 2, 1948, at their country home. All their children, grandchildren and other relatives and friends were present.

She was truly a pioneer woman, sharing the hardships with her parents in helping her mother with the family and her father with the cattle on the open range. She loved the outdoor life and talked of her early days with her grandchildren who loved to hear of her experiences. Her later years found her busy with her flowers of which she was so happy to share with others.

She was a patient sufferer and long hours were shortened by the calls of her many friends and cards of cheer.

She was a faithful wife, kind mother, and her grandchildren were the delight of her life.

Surviving to mourn her death is her faithful husband, Stanley, four daughters Florence Maris of Wauneta, Nebraska, Mildred Beezley of Hamlet, Nebraska, Fern Peters of Wauneta, Nebraska and Lila Prior of Palisade, Nebraska. Thirteen grandchildren Marvin, Dale, Ilo and Leland Maris, Raymond, Lois Jean and LaVern Beezley, Wayne, Yvonne and Delores Peters, Merlin, Janeta and Marcia Prior. Two great grandchildren Terry Ray Beezley and Vern Dale Maris. Four sisters Zella Overton of Clay Center, Nebraska, Mrs. Sarah Moore of Pueblo, Colorado, Mrs. Jean Humerickhouse, Grand Junction, Colorado and Mrs. Stella Ray Crawford, one aged aunt and a host of relatives and friends.

One grandson, Lloyd Beezley, her parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. She will be missed by her husband, children and the many friends who were acquainted with her.

Goodnight, Mother, we will miss you.
And no more your smile we'll see
You are happy now with Jesus,
From your suffering body free.
Sweetly rest from all your labors,
Far from every grief and pain,
We will often talk about you
While we here on earth remain.
Then at last, when life is over
We will greet you on that shore
Where the wicked cease to trouble,
And the weary weep no more.
Jesus had your mansion ready
He, Himself, prepared it all,
Thru him you were ready for it,
Then he gave his sudden call.
Goodnight, Mother, still we hear you
Pleading with us not to cry.
It is only goodnight, mother,
For we cannot say goodbye.

Those to attend the funeral from out of town were Mr. A.E. Adamson and son Wayne from Bushnel, Nebr., Wayne Peters of the Navy stationed at San Diego, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Basey of Edgar, Nebr., Mrs. Herbert Peters, Mrs. Rhona Peters, of Nelson, Nebr., Ruth Everett and Elbert Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Counter, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Moorford and James Screen all of Oberlin, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wright and son of Elsie and Howard Downing of Bird City, Kansas.
