Anita Walker
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Anita Walker of Beaverton, formerly of Springfield. She died Feb. 3 of complications of Alzheimer's disease at age 89. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
She was born May 30, 1919, in Westville, Okla., to Daniel and Hettie Chapman. She married Benton Walker on June 25, 1938, in Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at the University of Oklahoma and as a hairdresser.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Boyd of Portland; two sons, Jim of Richmond, Calif., and Ron of Central, S.C.; a sister, Irene Nelson of Lawton, Okla.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband died July 10, 2004.
