age 87, Riggs Avenue, Cynthiana, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Harrison County, September 20, 1920, to the late Leslie B. And Rosa Chipley Courtney, he was a retired Cleveland Twist Drill employee, a member of Unity Christian Church and a World War II Army veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Rogers; a brother, Ernest Courtney; two sisters, Banie McNeese and Ruby Fightmaster; a grandson, Christopher Jones and a great granddaughter, Caroline Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Eads Courtney; a daughter, Linda (Charlie) Jones, Harrison County; three grandchildren, Faron (Christy) Collins, Versailles, Jennifer (Travis) Gaunce, Harrison County and Clinton (Nicki) Jones, Berry and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Battle Grove Cemetery by Bro. Jack Bowman. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Ware Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 295, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031
