Muscatine, Iowa — Services for Alton C. Allen, 82, of Muscatine are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home with Masonic rites. Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with Military rites by the American Legion and VFW.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesay at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen died Monday at his home.

He was born in Luce Hill, Coutland County, N.Y., and was a 55-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the KAABA Temple and the Scottish Rite of Davenport. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, was a farmer for more than 25 years in the Muscatine area and served on the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors for four years.

He was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Marjorie Allen and Beatrice Allen.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Joyce Allen of Lakewood, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Edward McWilliams of College Station and Ann and Mike Howell of Pleasant Hope, Mo.; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Robert McCulley of Grandview, Iowa and Clarence “Butch” and Elaine McCulley of Columbus Junction, Iowa; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Dixie and Maynard Palmer of Morning Sun, Iowa and Theresa and Gary Palmer of Afton, Iowa; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Barton and Ruth Allen of Charlotte, N.C., and George K. Allen of Belchertown, Mass.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shrines Hospital for Children or Genesis Hospice Foundation.
