Baptized Dinder, Somerset, 20 June 1598, son of George Jones. Carpenter from Dinder, Somerset who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the "Marygould" & settled in Dorchester. (On 20 March 1634/5, "Richard Joanes of Dinder" was enrolled at Weymouth for passage to New England on the Marygould). Died by 16 April 1641 (when "Widow Jones" was admitted to Dorchester Church).
Married by about 1627 Alice _____. She married (2) between 2 February 1642/3 and 8 June 1643 John Kingsley and was buried at Rehoboth on 14 January 1673.
Richard Jones was brother of Elizabeth (Jones) Thatcher, wife of ANTHONY THATCHER {1635, Newbury}, and of Dorothy (Jones) Sears, wife of RICHARD SEARS {1633, Plymouth}.
