Richard Jones married by about 1627 Alice _____.
They had four children: Timothy, Samuel, Elizabeth (perhaps Rush), & Mary. She married (2) between 2 February 1642/3 and 8 June 1643 John Kingsley and was buried at Rehoboth on 14 January 1673.
An Alice Jones, aged 26, was enrolled at London for passage to NewEngland on the James [Hotten 107], and the suggestion has been made that this is the wife of Richard Jones. This is possible, but unlikely. Richard Jones was from Dinder, Somerset, and sailed from Weymouth rather than London, and so one would not expect his wife Alice to sail from London. Also, the passengers list of both the Marygould and the James are among those that list all passengers, and not just the adult males. The children of Richard Jones are not listed on either of these ships. The more likely answer is that Alice and the children sailed from a West County port, on a vessel whose passenger list does not survive.
The ages of the children suggested above are very rough estimates, based on the few clues available. They might be shifted a few years in either direction, and the order of birth of the children is also open to revision.
The two inventories of Alice Jones have caused confusion with some writers, who believed that she must have died prior to the taking of the inventories. The document itself, however, clearly states that the inventories were signed by Alice herself. These documents, along with the deed of gift dated the same date, must have been prepared just before the marriage of Alice Jones to John Kingsley.

From Contributor: Jim (49278018):
Alice’s maiden name may not be Thatcher but rather Denkston (per Somerset, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1531-1812). The name Thatcher appears in the Find-A-Grave memorial for(first husband) Richard Jones (Memorial 36925516) listing a sister of Richard Jones (by the name of Elizabeth Jones) married Anthony Thatcher. To further confuse the maiden name of Alice, she is also identified with the last name Thatcher in a write-up about (2nd husband) John Kingsley in the article “Origins of Kingsley Name”.
Whatever Alice’s proper maiden name, the fact remains she was first married to Richard Jones (Memorial 36925516) and to John Kingsley (Memorial 19758637) as his second wife and is included on John Kingsleys monument in Newman Cemetery.

Gravesite Details

The headstone was moved to this cemetery in the 1890s. It is most likely that Alice and John were buried on his property. See his memorial for notes and images.
