Georgetown Man Killed

Georgetown May 18 Special Edward Anderson sixty year old engineer at a local chemical plant died early this morning of injuries received last night when he was struck by two automobiles when he was riding a bicycle to work.

His nephew George Anderson who was accompanying his told investigating officers that the first car driven by a negro struck his uncle and knocked him from his bicycle and that a second car ran over him. The second car was driven by Nathan Lambert.

Both cars stopped but the negro driver did not wait for officers to arrive and he was being sought today. The injured man was rushed to the Hemingway hospital and died at 1:50 am.
Mr Anderson was a native of Horry County. His wife died February 12. Surviving are the following children Mrs Alton McLean Jacksonville, Mrs Adeline Bradshaw, Mrs Bertha Altman, Miss Marietta Anderson, Edward Anderson Jr David, Bill, Harry and Ben Anderson all of Georgetown.

The funeral will probably be held Tuesday from the Pentecostal Church with the Rev Minnie Causey officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
