WM. WILLIAMS OF TWISP DIES

Services Held For Pioneer Methow Valley Resident

Twisp, Jan. 13 - Funeral services for William Allen Williams, 78, were held at the cemetery Wednesday. Rev. John McNeece conducted the service. "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Rock of Ages" was sung by Ray Allen, ______ _____ and Harry Marble. Miss Ruth Williams, daughter of the deceased and Mrs. Simpson, sister of Mrs. Williams, both of Tacoma, were here for the funeral. Mrs. (Howard A.) Steele, the other daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Williams was unable to attend on account of sickness.

Williams was born at Rios?, Missouri, January 10th, 1855 and died January 9th. He was married to Hannah Horn, April 17, 1884.

Mr. Williams is survived by his widow (Hannah Horn), two daughters (May & Ruth) and one son (Bryant) and two grandchildren (Carrol Hurbert & Doris Ruth Steele). He died at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 29 days. He was a graduate of the LaGrange College of Missouri. He was a resident of the Methow Valley since 1902, where he has made a host of friends.

Note: (they left Missouri in the late 1880's and moved first to Fairhaven, (now Bellingham, Washington).
