Tryall Newbery was the son of Richard and Sarah Newbury and the husband of Priscilla. He served in King Philip's War and participated in Turner's Falls Fight under Capt. William Turner. Children included John I, Mehitable Clough, Nathaniel, Sarah and Mary.

This stone has sunk unevenly, causing part of the date to become obscured. Fortunately, it was included in the Corey transcriptions published in the Register of the Malden Historical Society (No. 3, pg. 52) which confirms the date.
