The Lord called a very special Angel home when Pearl Crane, of Enid, passed away on February 25, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was 91 years old.

She was born Oct. 14, 1917 in Colorado to Ray and Lillian (Oberdick) Thurman. Growing up in the Caldwell & South Haven, Kansas area, she graduated from South Haven High School in 1935. Pearl married Earle Laughrey in July 1935 and lived in Wichita, KS. On December 26, 1952 she married Orville Crane and moved to a farm near South Haven. In 1981, they retired from farming and moved to Caldwell. Pearl moved to Enid, OK in 1996 to be near her daughter.

She was a member of the Caldwell Chapter #382 Order of Eastern Star in Caldwell, Kansas and received her 50 year pin in 2006. She served as an officer in some capacity every year but one and has been Worthy Matron in the Caldwell and South Haven chapters.

Pearl loved the Lord & her family and was such a joy to everyone who knew her. She had many talents she loved to share and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Donald Laughrey & wife Susanne of Minneapolis, MN, Gene Laughrey & wife Judy of Caldwell, KS, Dennis Laughrey & wife Celesta of Wichita, KS, Randy Crane and wife Mary of Ackley, IA, Luana Ash of Enid and Thelma Carlson & her husband Fred of Shell Knob, MO; sisters, Ruth Crane of Caldwell, KS and Esther Alderson of California. She had 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orville, two brothers & one granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, Feb 28 at the Willow View United Methodist Church on West Purdue. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.at Schaeffer Mortuary in Caldwell KS, with graveside services at 2:30 PM at Corzine Cemetery, Corbin KS under the direction of Schaeffer Mortuary, Caldwell.

Memorials may be made to Willow View United Methodist Church. To share a memory or leave condolences.
