GORDON - At New Centerville, Nov. 28, 1893, after a lingering illness, Mrs. Almira Gordon in the 80th year of her age.
- Mrs. Gordon was one of the oldest settlers, coming to Rush River in the spring of 1854, when the whole of northern Wisconsin was little more than a vast wilderness. She was distinguished among her neighbors and relatives for her kindness, hospitality and truthfulness. She made no enemies and numbered her friends by the score. She leaves an aged husband to mourn her loss.
