OBITUARY
Nelson Grover was born in Newark, Ill. Oct. 4, 1866, and died Oct. 27, 1926, following an operation for apendicitis at the Newman Memorial Hospital at Emporia. At the age of 5 years, Mr. Grover moved with his parents to Hillsdale, Kans. His early manhood he spent at Morris, Kans. Here he was converted at about the age of 19 years, uniting with the Eureka Baptist Church. Dec. 25, 1900 he was married to Mattie Mott Busby, residing at Gardner Ks. for a short time. In 1901 he purchased the present home near Lebo Ks. but due to Mrs. Grovers health returned to Gardner Ks. where he was engaged in the Real Estate business until 1915 when he again moved the family to Lebo, Kans., where he has since been engaged in farming. He was a quiet, industrious man ever striving for the right, never complaining, always kind and cheerful. His death was a shock to everyone and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.Mr. Grover leaves to mourn him a wife, three daughters, one son, one grandson, two son-in-laws and one brother.Mr. Grover was a member of the Mason and O. E. S. Orders.The funeral was held from the Baptist church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday conducted by Rev. A. K. Lewis of Ottawa and assisted by his pastor D. J. Miller.A large concorse of sorrowing friends formed the procession from the church to the cemetery where the burial service was in charge of the Masons.Those from out of town who attended the funeral were:
