Former Area Woman Loses Husband, Son
Dean Ledgerwood, 36, and his son Gary, 9, in an accident near Boise, Ida., on Wednesday morning. Mr. Ledgerwood is the husband of the former Jean Pryer of Franklin RD2.
........This is the second time that drowning tragedies have struck the Morris Pryer family. On May 28, 1944, their daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Pryer Allison, 21, was drowned in the Allegheny River near Eclipse Island. The same accident claimed the life of Ray Roberts, 26, of Oil City, who was operating the boat when it overturned. Rescued from the Allegheny at that time wer Mr. Fred Allison, of Seneca, and Audine Boales, 23 of Pinoak. Mr. Pryer, Fred Allison and his son, Richard, were on the bank of the river below the spot of the accident, but they were unable to reach the boat in time to save Phoebe and Mr. Roberts.
