DELORES DIED IN THE RAPID CITY FLOOD

DELORES GRASS
Delores Ohnstad Grass was born April 29,1927 at Custer SD to Hans Ohnstad and Sophia Gisel. Delores was married young to a Mr Justice and the marriage ended in divorce. She married Royce Grass November 19,1956 in Pennington County. He died in 2002 and is buried in Black Hills National
She worked at ST Johns McNamara Hospital in Rapid City for several years in the Blood Bank.
In the early 1960's she worked as a waitress at the Canyon Lake Club and later at the Red Garter Restaurant, she started in 1970 to work as a waitress at Talley's Restaurant and was working there at the time of her death.
On the night of her death she and her daughter were at their house in Dark Canyon, when the water began to rise Delores attempted to start her husbands truck but was swept a way in the fast moving water.
Survivors include two daughters Linda Grass of Rapid City and Nancy Luxem of Lynnwood CA.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm Friday at Pine Lawn Cemetery.
