This is not Mary Carter. Mary Carter was John's first wife whom he married 23 Oct 1788 in NC. She died 11 Oct 1799 in VA and is the mother of Nathan, Sarah, Thomas, Abner, Amy & Daniel.
John married secondly to Mary Johnson, on 2 Nov 1803 and she is the mother of Jesse, Mary and Esther. This Mary died 28 Aug 1841 in Hamilton Co IN.
