Mr. Trent was a retired maintenance employee from Ford Motor Company and a member of the Keck Baptist Church. He faithfully served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Trent enjoyed collecting knives, fishing and working in his yard.
On February 9, 1952, he united in marriage with Elizabeth Broughton in Tennessee and to this union a son was born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rondell and Connie Trent.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Trent of Gray; a son, Larry D. Trent and wife, Tara, of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Patrick R. Trent, Matthew B. Trent and wife, Nicoletta, and Adam M. Trent; two brothers, Carson Trent and wife, Sudie Mae, of Flat Lick and Landon Trent of Cincinnati, OH; a special brother-in-law, Glen Broughton of Baileys Switch and other brothers and sisters-in-law; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, May 21 at 11 A.M. with his special friend and pastor, Rev. Jimmy Siler, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Patrick Trent, Matthew Trent, Adam Trent, Tip Broughton, Rickey Broughton and Wendell Messer. Honorary bearers will be his church family at Keck Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
