Sept.13, 1899 and is buried in Dallas Cemetery in Holland(Bell)TX. James Merritt Davis and Josephine Antonia Turpin Davis were married Nov. 15, 1870 in Greenville,SC.
Georgia Anna Davis married John Bowles Dec. 25, 1889 and one child was born on Jan. 24,1891: Claude. John Bowles was killed in a railroad accident Sept. 20,1892.
In 1898, Georgia Anna Davis Bowles married W. Jefferson Davis. Their son Grover C. Davis was born Dec.21,1901. Grover C. Davis is buried in the Dallas Cemetery next to his mother.

John Davis fought in the War of 1812 with General Jackson's army under the command of Col.Coffee, of the TN troops and was promoted to Sgt. Maj. His parents immigrated from Wales.
