MRS. CLARA PRANDY CALLED SUDDENLY

Dubuque Woman Had Not Been Ill; Funeral To Be Thursday


Mrs. Clara Bittner Prandy, 50, widow of Thomas J. Prandy, died suddenly at her home, 1044 Iowa street, Monday night at 11:30 o'clock.


Mrs. Prandy had been in excellent health and had not complained of being ill when she retired shortly before 11 o'clock. She became suddenly ill while in bed and died about 15 minutes later.


The funeral will be held Thursday morning from the residence to St. Patrick's church where requiem high mass will be sung at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in Mount Calvary cemetery.


Mrs. Prandy, a daughter of Louis and the late Mary Bittner, was born at Guttenberg, Jan. 12, 1877. She was married at Dubuque in 1900 to Thomas J. Prandy and has since made her home here. She was a member of the Catholic faith, an attendant at St. Patrick's church, and affiliated with the Catholic Daughters of America and the Royal Neighbors.


She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward Benninger, Rockford, and Miss Blanche, Dubuque; three brothers, A. C. Bittner, York, Pa., and Grover and Chester Bittner, Bellevue; and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Wertz, Dubuque, and Mrs. George Zentner, Bellevue. Her mother died in 1915 and her husband died in 1910.
