Alice Bell Stiehl. He passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, after
an extended battle with leukemia.
At an early age his family moved to Idaho and Robert grew up on the farm in Parma. He
graduated from Parma High School in the class of 1953. He lost his father when he was a
senior in high school.
He met JoAnn Anderson in January of 1958. They were engaged in August of 1958 and married
in September of 1958. They recently celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss!
Robert loved to snowmobile and go boating Taking the grandkids fishing was a favorite
pastime. Robert was an outstanding farmer for 50 years, raising sugarbeets, alfalfa seed,
beans, corn and mint. He was a member of the Nampa Countryman's Club, belonged to the El
Korah Shrine where he was a member of the mounted patrol, Caldwell Elks, Whitewater
Association, and served on the Vallivue School Board. Robert also had his private pilots
license.
After retiring in 2000, he got a part time job at the Dealers Auto Auction. He met many
new friends and enjoyed working with them.
Robert is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Rex Edward Stiehl; daughter, Angela Jo Dunlap
and her husband Gregg; four grandchildren, Mychal Edward Stiehl, Kaylee Rae Stiehl, Jake
Tanner Dunlap, and Luke Tyler Dunlap; a great-grandchild, Kayden Mychal Stiehl; brother,
Gary Stiehl and his wife, Martha; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Stiehl.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and brothers, Richard and Donald
