RADFORD - Edward Levi Pennington, 88 of Radford, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2005. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at RAAP with 36 years of service. He was an active member of Grove United Methodist Church, Shriner's, AARP, New River Square Dance Club and the New River Ballroom Club, Scottish Rite & York Rite, VA May Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M., Commandry of Blacksburg, the Boy Scouts, City of Radford Welfare Board, Community Action Board, and Recreation Board. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during World War II.

Mr. Pennington was born July 19, 1917 in Athens, WV, son of the late Edward Gaston and Minnie Elizabeth Scott Pennington.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rose Faulkner Pennington, a brother, Chauncie Trevor Pennington, and four sisters, Josephine Clemson, Janice Cordle, Gretchen Jarrell and Envah Hagar. Survivors include a son, Ronald George Pennington of Radford; a daughter, Terica P. Fisher of Radford; three grandchildren; a brother, James Oliver Pennington of Oceana, WV; a sister, Bernice Tincher, of Princeton, WV; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. James Bennington officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. Donations may be made to the Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
