Ernest Ballard, 55, Westfield died in Riverview Hospital Monday morning (in Noblesville, Indiana). He had been a patient for a week and had been ill for six weeks. He was a native of Westfield and had been employed by Monon Railroad for 28 years as a maintenance employee.
He was a son of Frank and Clara Alice Ballard. His father died in 1937. His mother survives and is living in Westfield. Other survivors are two brothers, Harry of Westfield and Roy of Noblesville; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Smith, Westfield and Miss Mildred Ballard at home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Wesleyan Church at Westfield where mr. Ballard attended. Rev. Robert Vardaman will officiate at the two p.m. services. Burial will be in the Summit Lawn Cemetery, Westfield.
Friends may call at the McMullan Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Monday.
