N.D. Scogin

Nick D. Scogin, 83, Rt. 3, Town Creek, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Terry, Elmer Fowler and Frank Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Elliott of Moulton directing.

He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Emmie Scogin, Mrs. Carrie Cox, Mrs. Mattie Collier, Mrs. Katie Kidd, Mrs. Eula Waldrep, Mrs. Vera Gower, Mrs. Edna Price, all of Town Creek; a son, Floyd Scogin, Rt. 3, Town Creek; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Providence Baptist Church for 60 years and a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Bearers will be Virgil Randolph, Silas Waldrep, Elmer Patterson, Ruel Scogin, Rubert Berryman, Vester Simmons, A.Q. Harville, Woody Jeffreys.

The body will be returned to the residence and remain there until the funeral hour.
