Funeral services were held Wednesday July 31, 1996, at Silver Creek Methodist Church, for Mrs. Dama Ruth Alford, age 70, of Silver Creek [Lawrence Co.], who died at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, July 29.... Pallbearers were: Rick Hartzog, Mike Hartzog, James Earl Hartzog, Victor Thornton, Curtis Thornton and Patrick Jeane.

Interment followed in the Silver Creek Methodist Church Cemetery with Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Alford was a homemaker and a member of Silver Creek Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Timothy Alford of Silver Creek, a grandson, Victor Alford of Silver Creek, a stepdaughter, Nancy Breland of Pearl, a stepson Tommy Alford of Jackson, three sisters, Sarah Garner, of Carson, Bertha Lou Thornton of Jackson and Eva Dale Steen of Star; three brothers, William (Bill) Hartzog of Denham Springs, La., George Hartzog of Silver Creek and Wylie (Snooky) Hartzog of Ridgeland
