The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Bailey, brief mention of whose death was made in Wednesday's Times, was held this (Wednesday) afternoon from the home of her son, J.M. Bailey, east of town where she died. The service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Warner, pastor of the New River Depot Methodist church, of which she was a member, assisted by the Rev. J.F. Jones, of the Dublin church. Interment was made in the Dublin cemetery. The deceased was the widow of the late Geo. P. Bailey, who died April last. It was about 15 years ago that the family removed to Pulaski county from West Virginia, to take up their residence. Mr. Bailey at one time owned land on a part of which the city of Bluefield now stands. Mrs. Bailey was a native of West Virginia and 83 years of age. She is survived by only one other child than the son mentioned above, a daughter, Mrs. V.A. Nicewander. She was an estimable woman and endeared herself to many friends made after her removal to this community.
