Funeral Monday

Funeral for Mary E. Sewell, 86, of Road 550W will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, with the Revs. Daryl Gressel and Mark E. Jones officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 11:30 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to New Zion United Methodist Church or Hospice of Bartholomew County.

Mrs. Sewell died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Miller's Merry Manor at Hope.

She retired from G.C. Murphy where she worked in purchasing and sales for more than 25 years. She was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and treasurer.

She also was a member of Grandview Arts and Crafts Club, Ohio Township Home Extension Club, Ogilville Fun and Fellowship Club and One-Room Schoolhouse Association.

Mrs. Sewell was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Brown County, the daughter of William T. and Leone E. Harrison Duncan. She married Charles F. Sewell Nov. 11, 1934. He survives.

Also surviving are sons, Ronald Sewell of Columbus and Paul and William Sewell, both of Phoenix; a daughter, Peggy Lego of Columbus; a brother, Thomas W. Duncan of Columbus; a sister, Ruth L. Baxter of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Thomas Sewell.
