Thomas William Duncan, 87, of County Road 275 West, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mr. Duncan was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Duncan was a foreman at Cummins Engine Company retiring in 1980 after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the American Legion.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike, with Rev. Paul Haugen officiating. Calling will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Together We Grow Fund.

Mr. Duncan was born in Crown Point Feb. 8, 1920, the son of William T. and Leone Harrison Duncan. Mr. Duncan married Evelyn Louise Eickbush Nov. 20, 1941.

Survivors include his children, Dave (Diane) Duncan, Linda (Carl) Kestler and Joyce (John) Shireman, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Damon (ViLaura) Duncan, Dawn (John) Boerger, Susan (Zach) Armstrong, Joshua Kestler, Briana (Rodney) Ferrenburg and Glen Shireman; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peg Lego of Columbus.

Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his father, William T. Duncan; his mother, Leone Mizer; his wife on June 11, 2004; and sisters, Mary Sewell and Ruth Baxter.
