E. E. EATON

EDWARD EVERETT EATON was born in Green county, Indiana, January 6, 1856, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Rutherford, of Little River, Kansas, at 5:30 o’clock Monday evening, September 11, 1939, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 5 days.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann McGuire January 2, 1888. Twelve children were born to them, three of whom died in infancy: Those surviving are: Clarence D. of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Vada Kinsey of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Ethel E. Bush of Little River, Kans.; Raymond P. of Little River, Kans.; Mrs. Elsie Folck of Little River, Kans.; Mrs. Edith Rutherford of Little River, Kans.; Mrs. Alberta Haynes of Toronto Canada; Mrs. Nina Knaski of Kansas City, Mo.; Lloyd E. of Chadron, Nebr.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to Arapahoe, Nebr., where they remained about fifteen years. They then moved to Arkansas where they remained three years. Following this they lived for seven years in Oklahoma. In 1913 they moved to Little River, Kans., and remained here the rest of their lives. Mrs. Eaton died twenty three years ago.

Mr. Eaton was a member of the Baptist Church, and a lifelong attendant at church services and Sunday School. In Little River he united with the Christian Church. His life honored the profession he made, and it is good for us that he has lived here.

Besides the children mentioned above there remain to mourn his passing, eighteen grandchildren, a number of other relatives, and many friends.

All the children, except one daughter, Mrs. Vada Kinsey of Los Angeles, Calif., were here for the funeral.

Funeral services at the Congregational Church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon were conducted by Rev. Percy L. Perry and Rev. C. J. Saunders. The body was laid to rest in Bean cemetery.
