There is a unique story about her in a geneology of the Eyestone family, The Eyestone History, compiled by J. Bruce Eyestone in 1948 (to my knowledge, this was never published, although various family members have mimeographed copies and there is a copy at the Library of Congress).
"Anna Susan (Susanna) Eyestone, sixth child of Abraham and Roena Pferching Eyestone [or Augenstien in the original German form], born in western Pennsylvania, September 1, 1798, came with her parents in 1799 to Ross County, Ohio. She had a son by a companion, Jonathan Dresbach. The son was named William. After the death of her mother, she cared for the home and her father. Land which she owned was given to her son, William. The grant of this land to her by her father has already been noted.
Anna Susan possessed the gift of healing. Could cure Thrush and Shortgrowth and other such ills. People came from far and near bringing their children. She rubbed and measured, and had words in Dutch [Deutsch] to repeat. She passed the secret on to her son but both of them died without the secret being revealed. She and her son lived with her father, Abraham, in Kingston, Ohio, and notwithstanding her belief in magic healing, she was a good Christain woman, very practical and very energetic. [Editor's note: It sounds like she would have been called an herbalist or naturalist in today's society.]
Anna Susan took entire charge of the garden, the men doing just what they were told and only that, otherwise they stayed out. It was all made according to the signs and there were a great variety of them. She died December 5, 1886 and is buried in the White Church Cemetery near Kingston, Ohio. Her son's name was William."
