Cora Jones, 93, of the Pine Hill community, passed away September 24, 2003, at James-town Regional Medical Center in Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her parents Houk and Settie Mixon Owens; her first husband, Van Hollingshead; her second husband, Oather Jones; three brothers: Frank Owens, Lewis Owens, and Alonzo Owens; and three sisters: Mary Owens, Effie Hall, and Flara Gilbert. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by one sister, Ethel Phillips; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted September 27, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Cecil and Rev. Cecil Babb officiating. Interment was conducted September 29, in Owens Cemetery.
