"Lottie" and her family arrived in this country from Sweden in 1864. It is thought they landed in Quebec, Canada and traveled the Great Lakes to Illinois, settling in Rockford, Illinois. This route was chosen avoiding New York because of the Civil War. Her father, Andrew changed the family name from Jansson to Lindberg when they came to America.

Lottie married Peter Peterson at the First Lutheran Church of Rockford, Illinois in the county of Winnebago, State of Illinois, the 18 day of September 1878.
