Jean Anderson, 77, of Blackfoot died Friday, May 10, 1996 at her home from cancer.

She was born Nov. 10, 1918 in Blackfoot, the daughter of Griffith and Celeste Josephine Watson Roberts. She lived most of her life in the Blackfoot area and graduated from Blackfoot High School. She later attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and Hanager's Business College.

She married Louis Merlin Anderson on Dec. 20, 1947 in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

She was a member of the LDS church and served as a secretary in numerous auxiliaries. In 1942 she started working for Teepee Potato as bookkeeper until she retired on Jan. 15, 1980.

She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, square dance, traveling, working in her flower gardens and enjoyed many sports, especially basketball.

She is survived by her husband, Louis, of Blackfoot; a son, Joseph Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Karen) Nelson of Blackfoot; a step-son, Hiram Anderson of Richmond, Utah; a half sister, Molly Stockton of Vernal, Utah; four grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two
sisters, one brother, two half brothers and a step-son, Merlin Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 1996, at the Blackfoot Third Ward LDS Church with Bishop Al Orton officiating.
The family will meet with friends from 7-9 p.m. on Monday evening at the Hill, Hawker & Sandberg Funeral Home and again on Tuesday at the church for an hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
